This is the North Carolina Justice Academy Model CHP Course, the required course for citizens of North Carolina to obtain a Concealed Carry Handgun permit. This class covers laws governing the use of deadly force, concealed carry statutes, and other relevant issues. The course will provide you with the necessary knowledge and certifications required to become a safe responsible Concealed Carry Handgun Permit holder. Upon successful completion, each student will receive a certificate of completion which must be included with your CHP application to your county’s Sheriff's department. Please check federal, state, and local law to confirm that you are eligible for the CHP permit.
This is the USCCA Basic Handgun Course. In this course you will be familiarized with handgun safety, storage, handling, as well as the mechanics of different styles of handguns. This course does not require you to have your own handgun. No student firearms are allowed in the class, but students will handle a real handgun provided by your instructor.

-Children’s Firearm Safety Fundamentals These classes are taught by age group. Each group requires at least two children to schedule. Parents/guardians may choose a different age group based on the child’s maturity. Up to three age groups can be taught in one day—each in its own session. Age Groups (3-5) (6- 8) (9-11) (12-15) (16-18)
-Handgun One-on-One This is a personalized training session with one instructor and up to two students at a time.
1 student: $30/hour
2 students: $50/hour
Instruction is tailored to each participant’s skill level, but both students must attend together if booking as a pair. This ensures focused, hands-on guidance in a private setting.
NOTICE:
Student understands that persons meeting any of the following conditions are prohibited by federal or state law to possess a firearm:
A felon
An illegal immigrant
A person under the age of twelve (12) for a .22 rifle, eighteen (18) for a traditional long gun (rifle or shotgun), or twenty-one (21) for a handgun - but this shall not apply to the issue of handguns to members of the Armed Forces of the United States, active or reserve, National Guard, State Militia, or ROTC, when on duty or training or the temporary loan of handguns for instructions under the immediate supervision of a parent or adult instructor
Currently charged for a crime that would, upon conviction, bar you from possessing a firearm
A person who was dishonorably discharged from any of the armed forces of the United States
A person who has been convicted in any court of a crime punishable by imprisonment for a term exceeding one year
A person who has been convicted of a crime of violence in any court of the United States, the several states, commonwealths, territories, possessions, or the District of Columbia or who is a fugitive from justice or a habitual drunkard or a drug addict or who has been adjudicated mentally incompetent
A person who by order of a circuit judge or county court judge of this State has been adjudged unfit to carry or possess a firearm
A person subject to a court order prohibiting stalking, harassing, or threatening an intimate partner or child of an intimate partner or placing them in reasonable fear of bodily injury
A person found by a court or mental facility to have certain mental disabilities
A fugitive from Justice
A person who has formally renounced US citizenship
A member of a subversive organization
A person who has been previously denied a license/permit
