Onyx Defense Academy is a Firearms Training Academy. Here you will become what we call "A Protector".
The first step to being a Protector begins with arming yourself with the knowledge of HOW you can protect yourself, AND/OR your loved ones the correct way.
There are many forms of protection, just as there are many forms of attacks and harm.
You will learn to protect yourself and family from harm by becoming more security minded.
Gain an understanding of the law, your rights, as well as your defense tools and how to apply them in defense situations.
ODA is committed to training the general public how to safely carry, store and utilize your defense tools as well as establish proper guidance and training.
This training will help you develop a personal plan for you and your loved ones to be better prepared in the event of an attack or crisis.
At ODA we believe all lives are special and everyone deserves the right to defend themselves. We offer many classes such as: Basic Handgun, Concealed Carry & Home Defense Fundamentals, NC Concealed Carry and many more to come!

Hello my name is Christian Rios AKA (RICO) a Father, Husband, Son, Brother, Uncle, Great Uncle, you name it!
I became a Firearms instructor to assist our community members in becoming protectors.
Too many times I've heard "I need to learn how to use a gun" or "I need to take that class for concealed carry" or "I'll take it someday," whatever your reason may be sometimes its hard to find the right answers to the process of carrying legally.
The process in a sense feels "out of reach" for some people whether it be schedule wise, fear of unknown costs, or simply just not knowing where to start.
My personal goal is to rid our community of the unanswered questions, to make it feel very accessible for people to exercise their 2nd Amendment rights.
I am a firm believer that every able-bodied law-abiding citizen can and should be armed because "The Only Thing That Stops A Bad Guy With A Gun Is A Good Guy With A Gun!"
